hope you are well and enjoying the summer. Thanks for helping us to adopt DaisyBoy. He is just so brilliant and has settled well into his new home. He was a little nervous to begin with but once he got too know us, he was very confident. He loves affection and playing with his toys. He's got quite a collection at the moment. He also loves the turkey and rice food from the local market, his fur is lovely and soft.

Thankyou once again, please say a fond hello to Sue and Jodie, they did a wonderful job.

Hi Judy,
I hope you are well. Just thought I'd send you a quick update to let you know how Coco has settled in. She has grown in confidence every day since we had her in February and is now a cheeky, playful and confident little madam (a typical tortie). Coco and Tess (my other cat) are getting on ok, Tess tolerates Coco, although Coco is still learning boundaries and hasn't yet figured out that it's not ok to hide behind the door and jump on Tess when she walks past!

I've attached a recent picture of Coco... which I managed to get her to stay still for !

Hi Judy,
Aslan still rules the roost, being quiet most ofthe time and letting Diva think she's in charge but beating them all down when they overstep the mark. The only one he's soft on is little Roo. He loves women and dances and rolls on his back for them but isn't fond of men apart from my partner Paul.
Diva is enormous! She's like a hoover finishing off everyones leftovers!
She mainly pretends to run the house and Aslan mostly lets her. She's very affectionate and very jealous of anyone else getting attention.
Ember is still a quirky little thing. She's a bit of a loner although likes to cuddle up with Diva or Cassius occasionally. She still has the loudest purr in the world.
Cassius has become a long lanky black and white version of a siamese much to everyones surprise! He's noisy like a siamese too and announces his presence very loudly when he comes in. He's also a rather good hunter. He's taken a liking to Babooshka.
Babooshka is a sullen faced little princess! She loves men and will always choose a male lap to sit on.She does adore my daughter though and seems to think she's her teenage friend, getting all excited when she comes home. She has also charmed my eldest son, refusing to be ignored by him and rolling around and lying on whatever he's doing until he gave in and fell in love with her!
Little Roo is the biggest surprise. After thinking she may never be tamed she is now the most affectionate little cat. She's very small and looks exactly like a tortie British Shorthair - all muscles and no neck!

She follows me around and is glued to my side. She scratches on my bedroom door to be let in to my bed at night and the first thing I see in the morning is her lovely smiley face. She's my little baby!
I've attached a few photos of the little beasts. They're all very well and mostly get on with the occasionaly spat - mostly Diva being jealous of Roo! We seem to have had an abundance of Maybug beetles recently and all the cats have delighted in hunting them and bringing them back alive for me! Charming!

Katy settled in immediately, loves her freedom in the garden and surrounding woods and is a real character. She has become a great friend of my other cat, a very large neutered tom, but she is the boss despite being less than a quarter of his size.

Scruff formerly Whizz

Hi Judy,

Just wanted to send a few photos of Whizz, the handsome chap that we adopted in November. We've renamed him Scruff and as you can see, he's settled in quite quickly! He bagged his spot on the sofa within hours of arriving home!
He is independent but can be very playful and affectionate when he wants to be; despite having the biggest and plushest cat-bed I've ever seen I wake every morning to find him crashed out at the bottom of the bed.
Thank you for introducing us, we're so grateful that we've got him.

Lisa and Maggie

HI Judy

Just an update on the two kittens we had from you just over a month ago (formally Bizzie and Chocodrop)
We have named them Lisa (black and white) and Maggie (tortie). They are absolutely gorgeous and have settled well into their forever home.
Lisa and Maggie cannot bear to be apart. If one can't see the other then they both start crying and run around looking for each other and are always cuddling up together.
They also enjoy being naughty eg climbing the walls/curtains and scratching the sofa. They dont like the vacuum cleaner!
I cannot believe that someone put Maggie in a sealed plastic box!
Will keep you updated. Hope you like the photos.

Erik and Flash

Hello Judy,

We just wanted to let you know how well our lovely cats are doing. We came to the rehoming day at Kenwood at the end of June looking for two cats needing to be rehomed together and found Milo and Fizz. We've renamed them Erik [the red] and Flash as we wanted them to have a new start, and they've been absolutely perfect. They're very friendly cats and they've been very popular with all our visitors and loved the extra attention. It's been really funny seeing them meeting the neighbours' cats, who will have to change their ideas about our garden! I've attached a few photos of how they're getting on...

Just wanted to give you an update on the two black kittens we got from you a couple of weeks ago.
I attach a picture where you can see that they feel right at home.
We called the smaller one Pippin. He is very busy and friendly and loves his fuss. The bigger one, Charlie, is quite shy but also already likes a cuddle when he is in the mood. They love their toys and their food (and the food of our other cats!).
Boo has accepted them and tries to join in playing but is a bit too rough sometimes, whereas Milly just ignores them. They fit in very well with us and we are very grateful that we got them.

Hi Judy just a line to let you know that cookie has turned out to be a fantastic little boy,he has really made our house his home and he is a real little companion he watches TV with us and he sleeps with us. Him and chardonnay while not completely enamoured of each other have learnt to live together and do occasionally rub noses and lay down together on the bed. We have attached some recent photos so you can see what a wonderful boy he has turned out to be, we will be eternally grateful to you and all the volunteers that do fantastic work to ensure that cats like our boy cookie get placed in the best possible homes to suit their needs so thank you again for introducing us to cookie.
He loves going out in the day to explore the allotment and he is now great at using our new cat flap and this is the best thing ever for him. Please see a couple of attached photos

Mosey, Choccy and Muffin

Hi Judy,
These are a few photos of our cats we had off you back in November 2009.

If you remember we took Mosey (Moses), Chocy & Muffin (who I believe was originally called Marmalade).

They have settled in brilliantly and they are a big part of our family. It's as if they've been here for years! Muffin wasn't welcomed at first by the other two but that was understandable as they were both used to being around each other but they soon got to like each other and are all the best of friends. Chocy and Mosey are constantly play fighting and it's like a cartoon scene at times with one cat chasing the other around our lounge. Chocy is the busiest of the three although lately she is starting to get more affectionate towards us. Muffin has always been a lap cat as she is a little bit older and wiser. Mosey being the only boy is my favourite and I think he like me most too. He's a very affectionate little boy and always looking to curl up on your lap.

We received Annabell in September 2008, when she was a young kitten. She has developed into the most beautiful, loving and cheeky madam!! I borrowed a trap from Anne, but after Annabell went in it THREE times, I abandoned that idea. (She actually went to sleep in it and quite liked being in there!!). Eventually, Tommydog was put in a basket and whizzed to the vets to be neutered. Swansea Branch very kindly sorted that out and he was returned to me for recuperation. He also had an infection and a gastric problem that has been cured with specific cat food, a vast amount of worming and a lot of patience!! Within 2 weeks, he stopped hissing, attacking, growling and has turned into the most LOVEABLE cat. He is called Tommydog due to the fact that he was originally a tom, and he won't leave me alone. He would cry for me on the botrtom step of my stairs when I went up and would be permenantly at my side downstairs. He has truely found his feet. He is a firm member of our family and accepted by the others.

A very BIG thank you to Anne, Fran and Judy for letting me have the honour of adopting both these cats and we all love them dearly.

Hi Judy,

As promised, please see attached photos of Scampy clearly at home with us and Sox and Spiro! He has had little trouble settling in and only needs a pair of slippers and a pipe and would be very content! Sox and Spiro have got used to him now, but Sox still growls occasionally and Spiro is losing some weight through being chased around the house by a more youthful male!

We hope that Scampy’s previous owner will be assured of the good home that he has come to, as we are to have inherited such a good natured and loving cat.

Janie sent these photos of Samson taken on Christmas Eve. A truly fortunate cat who has landed on his paws! He was an unneutered stray who unfortunately tested positive for FIV so had to be found an indoor home with no other cats. Janie very kindly took him on. She has been rewarded with a very affectionate, loving companion who hopefully will live for many years.

Thanks for posting Cookie's medical records, sorry we missed you, would have been nice for you to see how well he is settled in. Cookie has started exploring the outside world under a watchful eye. He is a really good boy and makes sure we know if he needs anything. He has more toys than toyrs 'r' us and still is getting on Chardonnay's nerves (jumping on her head etc), they are still not partners in crime but as we speak are cuddled up on the window sill together. Hope you have had a lovely Christmas. Just though I'd email you with an update on Molly & Milly. They are doing great and living up to the naughty tortie reputation. They have had a fantastic Christmas, lots of turkey and presents. They have also had a lot of fun (and driven us around the bend) playing with the tree and baubles!! I can't believe we've had them 9/10 months already. I was looking at photos of when they were small (and we thought they would be quiet and well behaved - ha!) and I have attached some for you. Milly is still small although she is greedy and stuffs her face, but Molly who is not so bothered with her food and the most active is quite chubby!Hope you have a happy New Year, and I hope the cats you have in your care find loving homes in 2010!

Mog and Charlie

Dear Judy

I hope you are well and that the work of Cats Protection is continuing to be successful. I thought you might like to see a few pictures of Mog and Charlie. As you can see, they have settled in well here and give us enormous pleasure and happiness. You might like to post an update on them on your web site. How these two beautiful creatures languished so long before being given a home is beyond us, but from a selfish point of view we are glad as it meant we finally found them. Mog has proved to be a home lover. Charlie loves his home but is a bit of a rover and gives me a few anxious moments from time to time. They still love each other very much and it would have been a crime to have parted them. We are so glad that CP insisted that they must be homed together.

I hope the homing day goes well on Sunday. We keep in close contact with Kenwood as we still board the cats there when we are away.

Dear Judy,

Molly is amazing! She loves us and she loves staying here! She wants to be with us all the times, but enjoys the odd walk outside, where she tries to play with Alice, and with the neighbour's cat! She is a right lap cat, she wants to be on our laps all the times, wherever we are, whether we're in bed, on a chair, or on the floor!!! She had a bit of a problem with earmites, but we've been treating her with some eardrops for 2 weeks and the mites have now cleared; she's still itchy from the scabs, and scratches her ears a bit, but she stops when we tell her off. She is really a wonderful cat, and very polite, too, asking for permission for everything she does! The vet told us that she's got an airgun pellet on her front, which we had noticed because she had a sore spot when she came to stay with us. The spot is no longer sore though now, so we assume she must have healed, and the vet said we should leave it as it is. We were really angry to think that anyone would shoot an animal, and wondered what a lovely cat like Molly could possibly have done to provoke such a brutal reaction in anyone.

Hi, Leah and Jan here from West Cross,

Just an update really to let you know how Zoe is getting on :) its been a few months since we had her now,and she is fitting in perfectly! She is such a lovely cat, we have no idea how we coped without her. We've changed her name to nettles, because she always sits by the nettle bush in our garden!

She is still very vocal ^^, not as frequent now though since she has calmed down. We always get a very loud miaow when we call her, and we are more than informed when it's time to be fed lol!

She is fitting in around the neighbourhood as well, and has made a good few feline friends! She now loves lots of cuddles and is very affectionate.

Just wanted to thank you and all the people at the cats protection league for helping us find our
perfect little kitty :). She is now a full member of the Ratcliffe family, and we hope she will be for some time to come.

Poppy

I thought I would give you an update on how Poppy (formerly Pansy) is getting along. She was a very frightened little cat when she first came home and didn't leave the attic room for a week. Slowly after time spent sitting in the room talking to her, even though she wouldn't come near, she started to venture out and watch me from the top of the stairs.

Now?? Now I can hardly walk around without someone running in front of me and rolling on her back to get her belly tickled!! She loves her garden and even though she doesn't go very far will sit out for hours on end. She has also developed a rather charming habit of waking me on weekends (not happy that her food is not being delivered on time) and tapping whatever bodypart is not hidden by the duvet, secretly I love it really.

She is even becoming more and more confident with visitors, and can be tempted to come to them if given a little treat, although I think she will always be my little baby and never be totally trusting of people in general. I'm ever so glad I came across Poppy that day and i'm pretty sure she is too.

If someone has adopted a very shy cat all I can say is give it time. Many a time I wondered if Poppy would every settle as she was such a scared little thing, with patience and letting things progress at her pace she is now a very happy purry cat.

Hi Judy & my feline friends,

Well I`ve been with my new humans for 10 months now doesn`t time fly! Life is still very much the same, wake my Mam human at 7am to have brekkie then staight out to survey my territory to see if anything has changed during the night, my Mam won`t let me out at night as there are foxes around whatever they are, I myself find the big black cat that comes around scary enough he seems to think he owns everything, one of these days I will put him in his place and see how he likes it.

I have been away in the caravan again, I find it very relaxing, watching the birds and rabbits I don`t think much about those other four footed pets they come in all shapes and sizes, too fat, too thin, too big, too small, there was one which did give me a bit of a fright I think my Mam said he was an Alsation, I wouldn`t like to meet him on a dark night. When we go in the cararvan now I have started to go outside still on my harness in case I make a run for it but it is nice to have some fresh air.

Well that`s it for now I have also added some photos for you to have a look at.

Hi Judy

I have been looking at the Swansea website and thought you would like to see some pictures of Misa (Misha) and Sasa (Sasha) who I took from Swansea CP 4 years in July. They were then called Ben and Honey.

Misa is the big black and white and Sasa the calico tortie. Misa is a huge handsome boy who is still scared of people except me and Sasa sadly still will not allow herself to be touched although she loves her creature comforts and occasionally will eat out of my hand.

Both are gorgeous and walk down the garden holding paws and are great friends even though they had never met before coming here.

I work on one of the UKs biggest cat forums, Purrs in our Hearts, a sister site to Cat Chat and each year we have a Cat Show. Last year Misa was voted third which made me very proud and this years show will be starting shortly and will be all LOLcats, so should be lots of fun.

Holly & Jinx (formerly Jake & Samantha)

Holly & Jinx have been with us now about 3months and have settled down really well.

Jinx is quite adventurous and likes going out in the garden to play. He is fascinated by water, having gone in the bath twice and the pond once – he likes nothing more than sitting on the side of the bath when someone is in it!!!

Holly is a little more reserved, not too bothered about going out but I think that is more to do with the fact that she thinks she will miss out on some food – for a little cat she eats like a horse and forever wanting more and pinching her brother’s food.

They are both very affectionate and loving cats and enjoy a cuddle, but at times they do chase each other round the house and fight – when that happens; it sounds like a herd of elephants when they run up and down the stairs.

Hope you are well. Kittens have settled in nicely. They are very affectionate toward each other and us. Right now Milly is sleeping on me and my arm is dead but I don't want to move her because she looks so sweet. Molly is cuddling with Jon. I couldn't find them earlier for ages, I eventually found them cuddled up together in the pet bed. Took a picture but I'm having trouble uploading it at the moment. Molly likes to play but Milly wont play with us, she'll only play with Molly. They also like to clean each other. They love to cuddle up on the bed with us at night. When I get up in the morning though, they think its solely to feed them. They get very vocal if I don't feed them immediately. I've attached a couple of pics that Jon took on his phone, I've got some good ones on my digital camera but they wont upload at the moment.

Both girls have beuatiful sleek, shiny coats and look fantastic. Annabell has taken to sleeping on Matthew's bed, they snuggle up together most afternoons.
Ali is an amazing character and will jump straight on my lap if I put on my 'cat voice'. She is very funny first thing in the morning, when I wish her a good morning she gets so excited she doesn't know what to do with herself.

Teddy developed diabetes whilst in the cattery but as soon as he had a new home and a relatively stress free life he recovered from the condition. Chester was another long stay, problem cat as he has a chronic chest condition.

Snowball was rescued from Gower last summer. He was in a sorry state, his fur was brown from being out in all weathers and he had a runny nose and eyes i.e. cat 'flu. After some time at the vets and then with a fosterer he recovered fully and is now a beautiful black cat.

5years ago, Josh and I adopted Suki, and then Poppy a few months later. Poppy was a very active kitten then who liked to play rough...... and nearly 5 years later she still likes to play rough!!! 'Luke has settled in really well, he's growing in confidence every day and is a wonderful little lad. He's very affectionate and loves his cuddles. He's probably filled out a bit since you last saw him, he certainly loves his food!! But he also loves to play and has started to venture outside for 10 - 15 minuted in the morning. It's amazing having him in the family, we all adore him, the children Amy, Megan and Hywel have been showing photo's of him to their friends, I think he has a fan club already! One of our staunch supporters, Ros who lives in Jersey decided to visit sunny (!) Swansea on August Bank Holiday weekend. Despite the weather she braved the mud at Margam Park but needed to buy a scarf from our stall to keep warm! She was given a mini tour of Gower (in the rain) by 2 committee members for which she was grateful, as her hire car had broken down!

Hi Judy and all my other feline friends,

I thought I`d let you know how I`ve settled in with my new humans. I think I`ve made the right choice in choosing them, a lot of nice humans came to view me but I was waiting for two special ones who I knew would look after me. When they came the man human said I was the one he wanted but the lady human was a bit unsure about having another cat as they had lost `Pickles` (what a strange name for a cat maybe she smellt of pickle onions) last December, any way to get back to my story, the day came when they came to fetch me, I was placed in a carrier and then we had to go into this larger carrier with wheels which moved quite quickly, I wasn`t at all fussed about the journey and was glad when we arrived at my new home. Out of my carrier I came and I was allowed to go exploring, they had bought me quite a few new toys and a new pink bed and a radiator bed, also water and food bowls which had pictures of all the disney cats on them. I was a bit unsettled for the first two days, I even hid behind the washing machine which gave my humans quite a fright, anyway I have settled down really well. I love exploring the fields behind my house, I even managed to catch a present for my humans to say thank you but I think it upset them. Every now and then we go off in that big carrier with wheels to stay in our caravan, they put a harness with a lead on me and I`m allowed to go outside, what an adventure! Well my feline friends this is another happy ending, one day that special someone will come and choose you but for the time being you are loved and looked after well were you are. I think it`s time for another stroll out the garden.

Paul and Helen sent these lovely photos of the 3 ginger kittens they adopted recently, named Spiro, Saffron and Sox, who are now collectively called 'The Holy Trinity'!

I thought you might like to see a few photos of the “Holy Trinity” as they have been called.

They really are wonderful. Had a full check up and are okay – Sox’s heart murmur doesn’t appear to be holding her back!
We think there is a bit of Burmese in Saffron as he does look so different from the other two. What do you think?

As promised I am sending the painting I did of 'Missy' and the one of 'Arold as well. She has settled in very well and it is now as if she has always been here. She still has her little quirky ways, like finding the highest point or the darkest place she can, to sleep.'Arold is very tolerant of her now but she tells him off should he invade her space. I suppose that is from when she lived her old life.She absolutely loves the garden and is always exploring out and about. She even pops into next doors garden to have a look around as they have a large pergola at the top of their garden and she can see for miles on top of there.I am afraid she has developed a little pot-belly but she is still very delicate.She is so pretty l just had to capture her in paint. I just thought you would like to know how Milly is settling in with us. We adopted her from yourselves at the end of December, and after a shy couple of weeks she began to grow in confidence. Milly has become very playful and curious, and it seems that every day she finds a new place in the house or garden to sleep. As the girls at the kennels mentioned she really does love her food! She's a very friendly cat and our friends and family love and adore her just as much as we do, she's become a bit of a star!

We want to thank you for all the help and advice you gave us, and for letting us bring such a colourful character into our first home. Kittens are all well. Ember now appears to think that Diva is her mum and follows her everywhere. Diva is also under this impression and washes her and looks after her. All 3 cats are getting on very well. There is the occasional spat but that's to be expected. They all play lovely together.

Ember now has free range of the house. She is getting used to us and is still nervous and skittish but very playful. She will let me pick her up and does love her cuddles when you finally catch her!

Missy and 'Arold

Missy and Arold are now settling in together after some minor mishaps.

Just to let you know how Missy is getting along. First day..... well......... she led us a merry dance alright. We thought she had somehow got out and ran away. I knew there was no way she could have got out but as we couldn't find her anywhere in the house, that is what MUST have happened. I e-mailed Rose, l wrote posters out and put them in the stores, and l printed flyers and placed them all around the estate and beyond. Finally getting home extremely late at night and then going to bed exhausted and very upset. THEN.... l got up at 3 a.m. and there in front of me was Missy. Looking as if nothing had happened, well, she wouldn't know it had anyway. She MUST have been in the bedroom as we close the door at night to let 'Arold have the run of the house to catch mice...... thats the idea anyway. We literally looked everywhere in the bedroom apart from under the bed. There was no way she could get under there, we thought, as it is only a gap of about 2 inches. But, there, she must have been.

Missy and 'Arold are still hissing at each other but are sharing a room together so that is a great improvement. I don't think they will ever be big buddies but they are getting more social and we absolutley love her to bits.She is eating twice a day and a lot. At the kennels they said she only liked dry food but she is eating both at the moment. She loves the scratch post and playing with us and her toys. She has a special place in the dining room that she loves so we keep her in there at night as she obviously feels 'safe' in there. She likes to hide a lot which we are only now getting used to and l am getting to know the hiding places. So she is easy to find now..... and we don't panic !!! Cariad is a very special little cat. He and his brother Jack were picked up in a sorry state when they were kittens. At first it was thought they were feral but it soon became apparent that they were anything but. Cariad has chronic breathing problems due to the poor start he had in life but as you can see he is really happy in his new home where he is loved to bits and has turned into a really handsome chap.

The first time Marie and Bill saw Cariad they knew that he was destined to become an inportant part of their family.

Just to let you know how Pippa is settling in. We will have had her for four weeks on Monday next 10th March.
She appears to be fine, eating and drinking well and although nervous at times, is very affectionate.
She hasn't been outside yet and we thought we might perhaps wait another week or two and then on a warm day, introduce her to the garden, when we can all be out there.

Our cat Mitzi was featured in the Evening Post on 29 September 2007 and we adopted her at the Autumn Homing Fair in October. She settled down quickly and soon made friends with Marmalade, our big ginger cat.

She loves food!, attention from our friends, climbing trees and exploring roof tops (good job we live in a bungalow estate).

She's a fab, cheeky cat and we love her lots.

Jasmine and Hercules

Jasmine and Hercules (originally Sooty and Jess) have only been with us for 2 weeks now yet it is impossible to imagine them not being around. Naturally for the first two days they were both very scared and hid but it is amazing how much they have come on in such a short time.

Jasmine is very confident and so intelligent, nothing slips her attention. She loves playing with her toy mouse, nothing gives her more pleasure then to disembowel it with her back legs! From the picture you can see our bed is also one of her favourite spots.

Hercules is such a big love. You can see his frustration sometimes as he comes over and curls up on your chest but his imagination means he gets spooked really easily and proceeds to gallop away at 100mph....15 seconds later he is back to try again. However, we have made so much progress with him and he is now even coming downstairs and sitting on Des’s lap.

We just wanted to let you know how they were getting on and say thank you so much for caring and doing the work that you do

Leo (now Busta)

Attached photos are of Leo AKA Billy now finally named BUSTA, Billy did not suit him, and one of my previous cats was called Leo, so hence the name change.

He really is a beautiful cat, I just love him, after a few hisses and growls in the begining from Busta, he now accepts and actually kissed the dog, he is not afraid of anything !! In fact the dog is not quite sure what to make of him.

As you can see in the photos he has taken to sleeping in the strangest places, as he is so big we all walk around him when he sleeps on the floor, and he turns a few heads as he likes to sleep on the window sills.

Geri is very happy here (well she seems to be) she loves to sit on our lap and seems to enjoy sharing herself between both of us ensuring that neither of us gets left out! She sleeps a lot but likes to have a little wander around the house in the mornings and has taken a liking to our washing up bowl housed in the under stairs cupboard, needless to say we are doing our best to keep her out of there as it is like the black hole ofCalcutta! We do think that she misses the company of the other cats, as in her first few days she seemed to be looking for them, we are wondering if we should get her some company, but we will see how things go on that front. She is wary of visitors (more so men than women), and has upset my Dad as she would not come and say hello, he loves animals and this was very alien to him, time will sort that out I am sure.

Kittens are doing very well. Aslan is becoming more tame every day. He has a favourite cushion by the radiator in my room and if ever you can't see him you know where he is.
Diva is a little monkey! I now know where the phrase 'naughty tortie' comes from! She's full of naughty fun and mischief! She's wonderful!
At 11.30 I give the kittens their last meal and then call them upstairs where we all jump into bed. Aslan obviously likes this routine because if I am later than this he sits and stares at me as if he's saying 'It's bedtime! What are you doing sitting there for?' One night I was really late and he was already in the bed when I got there! To top it off I now don't need my alarm at 7am as Diva wakes me up at this time every morning by shouting at me and giving me kitty kisses until I get up! Much nicer than the alarm!

Tigger is settling in really well....he obviously has his own rules....the main one being...'don't touch me when I'm in bed or I'll bat you!'....and he has!
Other than that he's doing great. He's really good with his litter tray...and so far this morning he hasn't needed to pull his water bowl around the kitchen and slop water everywhere.
So here he is...in all his posing beauty. Someone said last night that he looks just like Puss in Boots in Shrek 2....and I think she's absolutely right.

Thanks again for my gorgeous little boy. The first 2 photos were taken around the time when I first brought him home and the last one with him cwtched in his little bed was taken yesterday so you can see how much he has grown and how dark his coat is getting. He is very healthy with sharp claws and teeth, which I experience at play time!! I have registered him with the local vets, where I will be taking him next month for his operation.

We thought you might like an update of Mitzi's (previously Betty) progress since coming to live with us. We collected Mitzi on Saturday 22nd December 2007 and would like to think that she has had the best Christmas and New Year ever at home with us.

She has been thoroughly spoilt and has settled in very quickly. She is very affectionate and loves to have a fuss made of her and we love her 'mad half hours' where she shoots around the house and goes berserk with her toys.

I thought I would drop you a line to let you know that Libby is doing really well, she’s been with us for 6 months now. I can’t think how she managed living in the Liberty stadium for so long as she won’t go out if it’s raining! She is a real character and rushes down from ‘her’ bedroom to say hello when I come in from work. She follows us around the house and is more like a dog than a cat in many ways. Other than bringing a couple of birds in then shaking them until nearly all their feathers fell out then losing interest and leaving me to catch them she’s perfect! We often think how lucky we were to get to your homing day early enough to adopt her.

30th Dec update-
Aslan is coming on in leaps and bounds. He now spends all night cuddled up in bed with me and loves being petted as long as you're sitting down. Standing people are tall and scary apparently! I've also been able to handle pick him up and handle him by taking him by the scruff like his mum would have. He seems to have taken to me far more since I've been handling him like this and will let me brush him with his soft bristle brush. He likes that quite a lot. Because I can now handle him I leave the bedroom door open in the day for him to wander. So far he's only brave enough to come downstairs when the children are in bed but he is getting braver.

Diva has been helping him out again. She spent all day yesterday sitting halfway down the stairs trying to tempt him down. She's very patient with him although looks a bit fed up that he's so nervous sometimes! She finally led him all the way down the stairs when it was quieter in the evening and appeared to be giving him a guided tour of the living room! She's such a clever little cat!

Pictures from Dawn who adopted Aslan, a beautiful long haired, ginger male who is semi-feral. With patient handling Dawn is bringing him round slowly but surely.

Diva who is not feral at all is also helping Aslan lose his fear of people. Dawn says she is a little star.

Dear Friends at Swansea Cats Protection

I have just seen your latest “October” Newsletter and I thought I should drop you a line and tell you how I am since you gave me to my new “Mum”. I am very happy and not so frightened now. After leaving the Kennels I was very nervous and wouldn’t let anyone pick me up. But now I know that “Mum” loves me and would never hurt me so now I don’t mind being picked up and cuddled by her. I even let “Mum” stroke and rub my paws!!! I am very happy and all our visitors say what a lovely silky shiny coat I have. I have also put on a little bit of weight, but not too much. Sometimes I am fussy about eating my food and “Mum” makes me finish before she gives me anything else, which makes me cross, but at least I am not getting poggie.

I hope all your other cats are lucky and find nice safe warm loving homes. I think I am lucky, though “Mum” thinks she is the luckiest one.

Just thought I'd write and let you know how Jasper is coming along!He was very shy on his first day but we gave him loads of attention and he soon settled in.I guess new surroundings and everything!Speaking of attention, that's what he loves the most and he certainly gets loads!He is developing his own little personality and loves exploring at the moment.Finding sweet papers and bits and bobs that he loves to play with.He is too little at the moment to go out, but I'm sure in a few months he'll be exploring the neighbourhood! We are so happy that we adopted Jasper, he is absolutely gorgeous!Thanks for everything.

I thought you would like an update on Muppet.Although he will swipe occasionally there is a huge improvement in behaviour.He is a lapcat on his terms and he seems to be catching up with his probably, lost kittenhood, since he loves being played with.It`s a remarkable transformation in jost over a week.It`s very rewarding to interact with him.He will still attack your feet but it`s either when he can`t have his own way or boredom.It`s only in the last few days that he will spontaneously curl up somewhere to sleep.He must be much more confident.
