Here is our mascot Moggie having fun at the recent homing day at Kenwood kennels and cattery on 20th April.

A total of 11 cats were booked on the day and have now gone to their new homes.

Amy and Rhiannon are pictured here with Moggie. The two girl guides came to our Homing Day to present us with a cheque for £50 which they had collected by doing a sponsored walk. This will go towards them achieving the Baden Powell award.

Missy and 'Arold

Missy and Arold are now settling in together after some minor mishaps.

Just to let you know how Missy is getting along. First day..... well......... she led us a merry dance alright. We thought she had somehow got out and ran away. I knew there was no way she could have got out but as we couldn't find her anywhere in the house, that is what MUST have happened. I e-mailed Rose, l wrote posters out and put them in the stores, and l printed flyers and placed them all around the estate and beyond. Finally getting home extremely late at night and then going to bed exhausted and very upset. THEN.... l got up at 3 a.m. and there in front of me was Missy. Looking as if nothing had happened, well, she wouldn't know it had anyway. She MUST have been in the bedroom as we close the door at night to let 'Arold have the run of the house to catch mice...... thats the idea anyway. We literally looked everywhere in the bedroom apart from under the bed. There was no way she could get under there, we thought, as it is only a gap of about 2 inches. But, there, she must have been.

Missy and 'Arold are still hissing at each other but are sharing a room together so that is a great improvement. I don't think they will ever be big buddies but they are getting more social and we absolutley love her to bits.She is eating twice a day and a lot. At the kennels they said she only liked dry food but she is eating both at the moment. She loves the scratch post and playing with us and her toys. She has a special place in the dining room that she loves so we keep her in there at night as she obviously feels 'safe' in there. She likes to hide a lot which we are only now getting used to and l am getting to know the hiding places. So she is easy to find now..... and we don't panic !!! Cariad

Cariad is a very special little cat. He and his brother Jack were picked up in a sorry state when they were kittens. At first it was thought they were feral but it soon became apparent that they were anything but. Cariad has chronic breathing problems due to the poor start he had in life but as you can see he is really happy in his new home where he is loved to bits and has turned into a really handsome chap.

The first time Marie and Bill saw Cariad they knew that he was destined to become an inportant part of their family.

Wisky

As promised, although late Wisky and my pup Bonny, he really is a loving cat, suprising though as he was hard to get hold of if you remember. I do hope you found homes for the others and that they are loved as much as my Wisky is.

Pippa (Formally Prudence)

Just to let you know how Pippa is settling in. We will have had her for four weeks on Monday next 10th March.
She appears to be fine, eating and drinking well and although nervous at times, is very affectionate.
She hasn't been outside yet and we thought we might perhaps wait another week or two and then on a warm day, introduce her to the garden, when we can all be out there.
I have attached a couple of photographs for you.

Mitzi

Our cat Mitzi was featured in the Evening Post on 29 September 2007 and we adopted her at the Autumn Homing Fair in October. She settled down quickly and soon made friends with Marmalade, our big ginger cat.

She loves food!, attention from our friends, climbing trees and exploring roof tops (good job we live in a bungalow estate).

She's a fab, cheeky cat and we love her lots.

Jasmine and Hercules

Jasmine and Hercules (originally Sooty and Jess) have only been with us for 2 weeks now yet it is impossible to imagine them not being around. Naturally for the first two days they were both very scared and hid but it is amazing how much they have come on in such a short time.

Jasmine is very confident and so intelligent, nothing slips her attention. She loves playing with her toy mouse, nothing gives her more pleasure then to disembowel it with her back legs! From the picture you can see our bed is also one of her favourite spots.

Hercules is such a big love. You can see his frustration sometimes as he comes over and curls up on your chest but his imagination means he gets spooked really easily and proceeds to gallop away at 100mph....15 seconds later he is back to try again. However, we have made so much progress with him and he is now even coming downstairs and sitting on Des’s lap.

We just wanted to let you know how they were getting on and say thank you so much for caring and doing the work that you do

Charity dinner and auction at Vincents restaurant

A good time was had by all - delicious food, good company and salsa dancing (for some!).
Approx. £500 raised by the event. Many thanks to all who participated, especially Anna and Stella who arranged the event.

Leo (now Busta)

Attached photos are of Leo AKA Billy now finally named BUSTA, Billy did not suit him, and one of my previous cats was called Leo, so hence the name change.

He really is a beautiful cat, I just love him, after a few hisses and growls in the begining from Busta, he now accepts and actually kissed the dog, he is not afraid of anything !! In fact the dog is not quite sure what to make of him.

As you can see in the photos he has taken to sleeping in the strangest places, as he is so big we all walk around him when he sleeps on the floor, and he turns a few heads as he likes to sleep on the window sills.

Geri is very happy here (well she seems to be) she loves to sit on our lap and seems to enjoy sharing herself between both of us ensuring that neither of us gets left out! She sleeps a lot but likes to have a little wander around the house in the mornings and has taken a liking to our washing up bowl housed in the under stairs cupboard, needless to say we are doing our best to keep her out of there as it is like the black hole ofCalcutta! We do think that she misses the company of the other cats, as in her first few days she seemed to be looking for them, we are wondering if we should get her some company, but we will see how things go on that front. She is wary of visitors (more so men than women), and has upset my Dad as she would not come and say hello, he loves animals and this was very alien to him, time will sort that out I am sure.

Aslan & Diva

Kittens are doing very well. Aslan is becoming more tame every day. He has a favourite cushion by the radiator in my room and if ever you can't see him you know where he is.
Diva is a little monkey! I now know where the phrase 'naughty tortie' comes from! She's full of naughty fun and mischief! She's wonderful!
At 11.30 I give the kittens their last meal and then call them upstairs where we all jump into bed. Aslan obviously likes this routine because if I am later than this he sits and stares at me as if he's saying 'It's bedtime! What are you doing sitting there for?' One night I was really late and he was already in the bed when I got there! To top it off I now don't need my alarm at 7am as Diva wakes me up at this time every morning by shouting at me and giving me kitty kisses until I get up! Much nicer than the alarm!

Tigger is settling in really well....he obviously has his own rules....the main one being...'don't touch me when I'm in bed or I'll bat you!'....and he has!
Other than that he's doing great. He's really good with his litter tray...and so far this morning he hasn't needed to pull his water bowl around the kitchen and slop water everywhere.
So here he is...in all his posing beauty. Someone said last night that he looks just like Puss in Boots in Shrek 2....and I think she's absolutely right.

Mog and Charlie

Mog and Charlie are settling in well here and we really love them. They are so affectionate and gentle. Mog, who is still sometimes nervy, is particularly loving and grabs my lap whenever he can. He is a beautiful animal and a perfect parent and he gives way to Charlie on everything - lets him take his food, the best bed and my lap if we wants it. We feel we are really lucky to have them.

Thanks again for my gorgeous little boy. The first 2 photos were taken around the time when I first brought him home and the last one with him cwtched in his little bed was taken yesterday so you can see how much he has grown and how dark his coat is getting. He is very healthy with sharp claws and teeth, which I experience at play time!! I have registered him with the local vets, where I will be taking him next month for his operation.

I will keep in touch with his progress.

Just an update on one very affectionate and chilled out ( for most of the time) cat. The change in behaviour is remarkable in 8 weeks.

He`s discovered the great outdoors a few weeks ago and makes the most of it.Here is a recent picture on his favourite chair!

Mitzi

We thought you might like an update of Mitzi's (previously Betty) progress since coming to live with us. We collected Mitzi on Saturday 22nd December 2007 and would like to think that she has had the best Christmas and New Year ever at home with us.

She has been thoroughly spoilt and has settled in very quickly. She is very affectionate and loves to have a fuss made of her and we love her 'mad half hours' where she shoots around the house and goes berserk with her toys.

I thought I would drop you a line to let you know that Libby is doing really well, she’s been with us for 6 months now. I can’t think how she managed living in the Liberty stadium for so long as she won’t go out if it’s raining! She is a real character and rushes down from ‘her’ bedroom to say hello when I come in from work. She follows us around the house and is more like a dog than a cat in many ways. Other than bringing a couple of birds in then shaking them until nearly all their feathers fell out then losing interest and leaving me to catch them she’s perfect! We often think how lucky we were to get to your homing day early enough to adopt her.

Ali took all of one hour to claim our sofa as her own! No problem using litter tray or eating. Has passed her test on climbing step-ladders and window sills, spends time planning for when she is allowed out. (Have seen a map of Poland in her basket.Invasion imminent!!)

Aslan and Diva

30th Dec update-
Aslan is coming on in leaps and bounds. He now spends all night cuddled up in bed with me and loves being petted as long as you're sitting down. Standing people are tall and scary apparently! I've also been able to handle pick him up and handle him by taking him by the scruff like his mum would have. He seems to have taken to me far more since I've been handling him like this and will let me brush him with his soft bristle brush. He likes that quite a lot. Because I can now handle him I leave the bedroom door open in the day for him to wander. So far he's only brave enough to come downstairs when the children are in bed but he is getting braver.

Diva has been helping him out again. She spent all day yesterday sitting halfway down the stairs trying to tempt him down. She's very patient with him although looks a bit fed up that he's so nervous sometimes! She finally led him all the way down the stairs when it was quieter in the evening and appeared to be giving him a guided tour of the living room! She's such a clever little cat!

Pictures from Dawn who adopted Aslan, a beautiful long haired, ginger male who is semi-feral. With patient handling Dawn is bringing him round slowly but surely.

Diva who is not feral at all is also helping Aslan lose his fear of people. Dawn says she is a little star.
