Daisy

I have at last learnt how to send photos by email,so thought I'd let you know how Daisy is getting on. Celia approached me in May last year to take in this sad, depressed little cat. She was thought to be 9 years old, but my Vet thinks she is nearer 14, which I think is probably nearer the mark.

She took a long, long time to settle in. When she eventually came to sit on my lap, I had a good cry, because it was the result of a great deal of patience. Now, I never get to sit down alone-she's there like a shot!

However, she still won't trust anyone else and is particularly nervous of anyone standing up. I think someone has kicked her at sometime. I wish I could make her understand that that will never happen again.

She loves her food and is acquiring rather expensive tastes! I love to spoil her though, because she has probably had a bad time in her life, so I want only the best for her now.

She is not sociable with my other cat, Barney, but they are not aggressive to each other. One of my cats died a few weeks ago and Daisy lay alongside her during the nights when she was ill. Daisy was not at all demanding of me in the last week of Belle's life. It was as though she realised that I had other priorities.

She has become very precious to me. She is arthritic, so can be cranky, but we understand each other. I am glad to have her with me and, you know, I think she is glad to be here.
